About
Mike came to New Zealand from Zimbabwe over 30 years ago. He worked at North Shore Hospital for more than 20 years and has been a BreastScreen reader since 2006. Mike has been involved in all aspects of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiologists (RANZCR) including an Australasian Councillor, Chair of the New Zealand Branch and a Senior Examiner. He has been awarded life membership of the RANZCR in recognition of his contribution to radiology.
Mike is a consultant Clinical Radiologist at Auckland Breast Centre, Canopy Imaging and BreastScreen Waitematā Northland. He has a special interest in breast imaging and intervention.
Mike enjoys family time, travel and the outdoors. He has competed successfully in triathlon and multisport at world championship level.
Dr Matthew Chaney
Radiologist
Matthew completed his medical, radiology, and breast imaging fellowship training in North Carolina and South Carolina. He has extensive experience across all aspects of breast imaging, including several years as Medical Director of Breast Care for a regional health system. Matthew has a special interest in breast cancer detection and intervention.
Outside of work, Matthew loves spending time with his wife and three children, sports, and being outdoors.

About
Dr Laura Cosgrave (Ngāpuhi) graduated from Auckland University Medical School with her MBChb in 2015 and obtained fellowship to the Royal Australia and New Zealand College of Radiologists (RANZCR) in 2024. She then completed a further 12 month fellowship in breast imaging between Auckland Breast Centre and Te Whatu Ora Te Toka Tumai (Health New Zealand, Auckland).
Laura continues to work across both sites as well as BreastScreen Auckland Central (BSAC) where she is accredited as both a screening and assessing radiologist. She is involved in weekly breast multi-disciplinary meetings and the teaching and training of radiology registrars in the Auckland regional training programme.
In addition to breast imaging, interests include general body and oncology imaging and female pelvic MRI.
Outside work Laura is the proud mum of two young daughters.

About
Dr De La Rey graduated in 1991 and worked in internal medicine until 1996 when she commenced and later completed specialized radiology training in 2000. Subsequently she worked as a consultant radiologist on the Johannesburg Witwatersrand radiology circuit and then went to private practice in 2002.
From 2002 up until 2020, Dr De La Rey worked in private practice in South Africa and the NHS UK. In 2021 she moved to New Zealand where she started working as a consultant radiologist at the Hutt valley DHB and subsequently joined Canopy Imaging.
Dr De La Rey is general radiologist with a special interest in breast imaging.
She is BSA accredited and partakes in the Breast Screen Central programme. She also attends their weekly radiologist review as well as weekly Breast multidisciplinary meetings
Dr Wendy DeMartini
Fellowship-trained in Breast Imaging at the University of Washington, Seattle, Wendy is an internationally recognised expert in breast imaging clinical care, education, and research. She has contributed to more than 100 research presentations, publications, review articles, and book chapters.
Wendy is a mum of teenage twins, she enjoys cooking and is delighted to be living in NZ, close to family in the South Island.
Dr Richard Harman
Breast Surgeon
MBChB FRACS (General Surgery)
Richard is a breast surgeon with appointments at North Shore Hospital and Auckland Breast Centre. He completed his surgical training in Auckland then undertook fellowship positions at the Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, in Sydney, and the Mayo Clinic, in the USA.
Over the last 10 years he has developed the Breast Clinic at North Shore Hospital and treated over 1000 women with breast cancer in the public and private sectors. Active involvement with research has lead to a thorough understanding of breast cancer treatment.
Richard is an active member of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons Breast Section and is on the medical committee of the New Zealand Breast Cancer Foundation. He is married with three children.

About
Dr Jeanie Jennings graduated as a radiologist in South Africa in 2008. She joined Canopy Imaging in 2016 where she works as a general and breast radiologist. She has a special interest in female imaging including Breast Imaging, Breast intervention, Breast MRi, Obstetrics, Pelvis ultrasound and Female Pelvis MRi (endometriosis). She is the Lead Breast Radiologist for Canopy Imaging and the Auckland Breast Centre and is passionate about female health. She is also involved in fellowship training, currently the Fellowship Director for the Auckland Breast Centre breast fellowship programme.
Outside of work, Jeanie is a wife and mother of two teenage children. She enjoys music, theatre and time spent in nature.
Dr Helen Jo
Radiologist
MBChB, FRANZCR
Helen is a consultant radiologist at North Shore Hospital and BreastScreen Waitemata Northland. She is a general radiologist with a special interest in breast imaging including screening and diagnostic mammography.
She performs image-guided intervention, including hookwire placements and ultrasound and stereotactic guided biopsies. Helen came to New Zealand in 1994 from Korea, and graduated from University of Otago and completed her radiology training in Auckland.
Dr Mike Russell
Oncoplastic Surgeon
BSc, MBBS (Hons), FRACS (General Surgery)
Mike graduated with honors from the University of Sydney in 2012 and completed his general surgery training in New Zealand, earning his FRACS in 2020. He specialised in oncoplastic breast surgery through BreastSurgANZ, completing fellowships in Sydney and at Waitemāta District Health Board. He also trained in melanoma surgery at the Melanoma Institute Australia and furthered his expertise with a surgical oncology fellowship at the Royal Marsden Hospital in London, focusing on melanoma and soft tissue sarcoma surgery.
Mike currently practices publicly at North Shore Hospital and consults privately at Auckland Breast Centre. He will be collaborating closely with a multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive care for his patients.
